Eric Thomas, PhD, serves as Scientific Director within the Medical and Scientific Affairs organization at Labcorp. In this role, he is involved in informing scientific strategy needed to support Labcorp drug development – and connecting scientists inside and outside of the organization. He joined Labcorp (then Covance) in 2011. He served as the lead for Bioanalysis in Indianapolis for 8 years and as global Director of Method Development and Validation for LC-MS Bioanalysis for 2 years prior to moving into Scientific Affairs. Eric is a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (BS, Chemistry) and the University of Michigan (PhD, Medicinal Chemistry). He performed postdoctoral work with Neil Kelleher at the University of Illinois, focusing on proteomic analysis of histone modifications in cell culture and tissue samples. He then served as a staff scientist at the Moffitt Cancer Center, supporting protein biomarker analysis via mass spectrometry.
Eric currently serves as Vice-Chair of the AAPS Bioanalytical Focus Group. He has delivered over 20 publications and presentations and remains active in forums such as AAPS, WRIB, GCC, and EBF.
