Erica Schlesinger earned her PhD in Bioengineering from the Joint Graduate Group in Bioengineering at UCSF and UC-Berkeley where her research focused on the development of long-acting biodegradable polymeric drug delivery systems for small and large molecules. She is currently VP of Technical Development at Seran Bioscience, LLC., a CDMO located in Bend, OR that specializes in the formulation, product development and manufacturing of drug product with an emphasis on spray drying. Her current work focuses on the form and formulation for a wide variety of molecular entities and delivery approaches including oral solid dosage forms for small molecules, protein degraders and other "beyond the rule of 5" moeities, as well as oral or parenteral biologics enabled by solid state formulations such as high concentration protein suspensions. Her prior industry experience includes roles at Regeneron and Genentech working on the development of novel drug delivery formulations for biologics and analytical development, formulation and process chemistry for antibody drug-conjugates.
