Smital Patil, a Ph.D. candidate at Mercer University, is dedicated to the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Under the guidance of Dr. Martin J. D'Souza, Smital is an aspiring graduate research assistant in a vaccine nanotechnology laboratory. Her passion lies in the research and development of vaccines for infectious diseases. Currently, her work focuses on creating monovalent and bivalent microparticulate protein-based vaccines for COVID-19. Smital is actively exploring the immunogenicity of different patient-friendly delivery platforms, including microneedles, buccal dissolving films, and intranasal vaccines, to enhance vaccine efficacy against COVID-19.
