Imoh Etim, RPh, PhD, is a registered pharmacist turned pharmaceutical scientist. He is a Senior Scientist in the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism, and Bioanalysis (PDMB) department at Merck & Co., Inc. His area of expertise is in the pre-clinical development of small molecules and peptide therapeutics, bioanalytical method development and validation, and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics studies. Imoh is skilled in designing, planning, and executing new LC-MS/MS and DMPK assays to assess the pharmacokinetic properties of potential therapeutics. His passion lies in optimizing drug candidates for improved efficacy and safety profiles, and he collaborates with other scientists to design molecules with desirable DMPK properties. He has made significant contributions across multi-disciplinary discovery research, including cardiovascular, metabolic, neuroscience, and immuno-oncology. Prior to joining Merck, Imoh worked as a pharmacist in retail, hospital, and pharma industry settings. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Texas Southern University, where his doctoral research focused on alleviating chemotherapy-induced gastrointestinal toxicity using naturally occurring flavonoids. His peer-reviewed works have been published in esteemed journals and presented at numerous scientific meetings. Imoh is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
