Annika Rautenberg is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bonn, specializing in spray freeze-drying (SFD). Currently attending her fourth AAPS conference, she focuses on the characterization of SFD particles, optimizing critical powder properties such as flowability, dissolution rates, and surface morphologies. As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bonn, Annika is also exploring innovative applications of SFD, such as nasal and oral drug delivery.
One of her key research areas is the optimization of atmospheric SFD, a sustainable alternative to traditional vacuum drying methods, aimed at reducing energy consumption while maintaining product quality. Collaborating with industry partners like GEA and IBL, she is working to push the boundaries of this emerging technology. Annika's dedication to pharmaceutical technology is reflected in her numerous publications and contributions to advancing sustainable, efficient drying processes in drug development.
