Omotola Gbadegesin obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Howard University, Washington, DC, USA. She also obtained her Master of Science in Pharmaceutics and Bachelor of Pharmacy degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. Omotola’s work has focused on nanotechnology applications in drug delivery. Her research focuses on developing innovative approaches to precision medicine in cancer treatment. Her doctoral project involved redesigning existing chemotherapeutics as targeted polymer-drug conjugates to prevent adverse side effects and improve therapeutic outcomes in ovarian cancer. Omotola is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, USA, studying the molecular mechanisms of cancer resistance and how to use combinatorial and targeted approaches to enhance therapeutic effectiveness and address cancer resistance. She is also a member of the editorial content committee for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Newsmagazine.
