Mohsen A. Hedaya, Pharm.D., Ph.D., is a professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, Egypt. He is currently on leave and work at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kuwait University, Kuwait. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree (1980) from Tanta University, and his Doctor of Pharmacy (1984), and Doctor of Philosophy (1989) degrees from the University of Minnesota, USA. After completing his graduate studies under the supervision of Professor Roland Sawchuk, Dr. Hedaya continued to work with him as a postdoctoral research fellow. Dr. Hedaya was appointed in 1990 as a Lecturer of Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University. In 1993, he joined the College of Pharmacy, Washington State University, USA as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences. After returning to Egypt in 1999, he was promoted to associate professor and then to professor of Clinical Pharmacy, and he served as the Chair of the Clinical Pharmacy Department and Vice Dean for Academic affairs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University.
Dr. Hedaya’s specialty area is in pharmacokinetics; he has taught basic and advanced pharmacokinetic classes to professional pharmacy students and graduate students in Egypt, USA and Kuwait. His research interest includes pharmacokinetic drug interactions, drug delivery to the brain, and bioequivalent study design and data analysis. This is in addition to his interest in the development and assessment of computer-aided instructional materials in the area of pharmacokinetics. Dr. Hedaya is a member of numerous scientific associations, and he received several prestigious teaching and research awards. He has published numerous scientific publications in national and international journals and frequently gives presentations at national and international scientific meetings. The computer-based educational materials developed by Dr. Hedaya in the area of pharmacokinetics are currently used by more than 300 educational, research and industrial institutions around the world
