Zhengrong (Rong) Cui is a Professor at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), College of Pharmacy, Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery. His research interests lie in pharmaceutical drug and vaccine delivery. He has more than twenty years of experience in developing and applying nanotechnology and pharmaceutical chemistry to improve the immunogenicity of vaccine antigens, to overcome tumor cell resistance to (chemo)therapy, and to target anti-inflammatory agents to chronic inflammation sites. He also has extensive experience in stabilizing biologics and their need-free delivery. Dr. Cui published extensively in the fields of pharmaceutics and vaccinology, including numerous peer-reviewed research papers, review papers, and book chapters. He is an inventor on many patents and patent applications. He serves as an editor of International Journal of Pharmaceutics and as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals as well as national and international funding agencies. Dr. Cui teaches Biopharmaceutics to professional Doctor of Pharmacy students and Advanced Biopharmaceutics to graduate students and is a UT Austin Provost’s Teaching Fellow. Dr. Cui holds a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Kentucky, College of Pharmacy and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Pharmacy.
