Dr. Tu Van Duong is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Professor Lynne S. Taylor’s group at Purdue University. He obtained a degree of pharmacist from Hanoi University of Pharmacy in Vietnam and was appointed lecturer at the same university upon graduation. He continued his studies at KU Leuven, Belgium, receiving his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018 under the supervision of Professor Guy Van den Mooter. His doctoral dissertation focused on crystallization of pharmaceutical solid dispersions and polymorphism. After joining Purdue University, he has been working on multiple topics, including phase behavior and transformation kinetics of drugs in solution, salt disproportionation, mechanism of nanoparticles formation upon dissolution of amorphous solid dispersions, and development of cost-effective manufacturing processes for poorly water-soluble drugs used to treat diseases afflicting developing countries.
