Professor Sócrates Egito obtained his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Université de Paris XI, France. Currently, he holds a Visiting Professor Assignment at the University of Iowa. He is a Research Fellow of CNPq since 2008, a member of the Board Evaluation Committee for Graduate Programs at CAPES in Medicine, and undergrad Programs in Pharmacy Colleges. Additionally, he serves as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Health Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Prof. Egito assumed the position of Professor in Pharmaceutics in 2012 at the Department of Pharmacy at UFRN and has been the Director of the Laboratory of Dispersed Systems (LaSiD) since 1996. His research activities are centered around drug formulation for insoluble compounds, with a primary focus on pharmaceutical nanotechnology. His main interests include orphan drugs, such as Amphotericin-B, and novel entities like Cannabidiol. Professor Egito's research team comprises 32 individuals, and he has authored over 160 papers in scientific journals and presented at more than 600 scientific meetings.
