University of Minnesota
My name is Joan Cheng and I am a Ph.D student in the Pharmaceutics department at the University of Minnesota. I graduated from Emory University in 2017. I majored in Chemistry and minored in Chinese, and also graduated with high honors in Chemistry. From 2017 to 2019, I worked at the the Tobacco and Volatiles Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where I developed and applied methods to monitor biomarkers of VOC and diisocyanate exposure utilizing UPLC-MS/MS. Currently, I work in the Kandimalla Lab. My research is focused on developing and optimizing cationic bicelles for the delivery of siRNA and other RNA-based therapeutics to the blood-brain barrier (BBB) endothelium.
