Dr. Keyang Xu is currently a Senior Fellow in the Department of BioAnalytical Sciences (BAS) at Genentech. He received his B.S. degree from Xiamen University in China and his Ph.D. degree from University of Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his postdoctoral training in Cancer Pharmacology at University of Pennsylvania, PA. He later joined the Department of Pharmacokinetic and Drug Metabolism (PKDM) at Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA. At Amgen, Dr. Xu was responsible for LC-MS/MS method development and high-throughput sample analysis supporting efficacy, pharmacokinetics and toxicity studies of small molecules and peptides in drug discovery. He subsequently joined Genentech in South San Francisco, CA. Currently, the research focus of his group at Genentech has been in developing and implementing innovative hybrid immunoaffinity LC-MS technologies to qualitatively and quantitatively study monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), fusion proteins, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and other protein therapeutics and biomarkers in vivo for nonclinical and clinical studies in drug development.
