Mahadevan (Maha) is an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck & Co., Inc., where he is part of the critical reagent group in the Preclinical Development space. His group supports critical reagent characterization and provides scientific oversight on their generation, for both biologics and vaccine programs. Maha has several years of work experience in various organizations in academia and biotech, where he specialized in protein purification and characterization using biochemical and biophysical methods. Maha graduated with a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Bayreuth and Max-Planck Institute, Germany, focusing on structural characterization of enzymes using protein X-ray crystallography. Following graduation, he joined The Stowers Institute for Medical Research as a postdoctoral fellow, where he performed research on mass spectrometry based label free quantitative proteomics
