Dr. Adeola Coker is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy in San Antonio, TX. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology from McPherson College and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing post-doctoral training and working in the industry at Schering-Plough and Human Genome Sciences, she transitioned to academia. In her current role, Dr. Coker mentors students from diverse backgrounds, helping them master essential pharmaceutics principles. She also directs the school’s MS in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences program. Her research interests include protein formulation and stability, as well as pedagogical research on student learning and engagement. Besides AAPS, Dr. Coker is a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
