The presentation will discuss how evolving capabilities in physical instrumentation, combined with advanced data analysis, allows new understanding of difficult to model pharmaceutical problems such as powder flow.

These insights might not be modelled from first principles, but become understandable once they have been demonstrated.

Learning Objectives:

Be aware challenges are not yet amenable to modelling by mechanistic systems, as we don't know the mechanisms! However statistical modelling can be beneficial here.
In order to build good statistical models you need good physical instrumentation and controlled curation of those systems, which makes analysis by a range of data technqiues feasible. Here we will show you an example.
Understand the value of good visualisation when building an application.
Understand better pharmaceutical challenges such as flow or sticking.
Be aware that some findings are counter-intuitive.
