Description: This presentation will give information on how to develop lipid-based formulations and evaluate their performance of oral administration. The general classification of lipid -based formulations and different examples of formulations promoting bioavailability of poorly-water soluble drug substances will be presented. Criteria for choice of the final dosage form (i.e. liquid-filled hard capsules or soft capsules) will be described with a focus on vegetal soft capsules, that open new opportunities of delivery to the patient.
