Manjusha Annaji is currently a PhD student in the department of Drug Discovery and Development at Auburn University. Her research focuses on the fabrication of different 3D printed dosage forms such as polypills, orodispersible films, and drug-eluting polymeric implants for treating various disease conditions. She recently published a review paper titled ‘Application of extrusion-based 3D printed dosage forms in the treatment of chronic diseases’. Her research also focuses on developing novel multilayer coatings of antiinflammatory drugs on the 3D printed stainless steel implants to reduce the risk of post-surgical complications for orthopedic applications. The micro featured surface of 3D printed metal implants provide better conditions for osteointegration and bone formation than conventional metal implants.
