Postdoctoral Research Fellow
US Food and Drug Administration
Savithra Jayaraj, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral research fellow at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), specializing in the physical and chemical characterization of nanomedicines and pharmaceutical formulations. Her research focuses on developing and validating analytical methods for nano-medicinal drugs, utilizing techniques such as HPLC, UHPLC/TQMS, UHPLC/QTOF, ICP-MS, and CE-UV/Vis, CE-C4D for the quantification of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and excipients. She also conducts in vitro releasetesting (IVRT) for complex liposomal drug formulations.
Savithra earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from The Ohio State University, where she worked on electrospray-based photocatalytic reaction screening and developed innovative platforms for small molecule reactions. Her interdisciplinary background spans mass spectrometry, photophysical studies, and polymer synthesis.
She has authored several publications in top scientific journals and has presented her research work at various conferences. Savithra is also an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS).
