PhD Student
Duquesne University
My name is Rahima Khatun and I'm a graduate student (PhD) at graduate school of pharmaceutical sciences at Duquesne University.
I was born in Bangladesh. I have completed my Bachelor of Pharmacy degree(BPharm) and Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology from two renowned universities of Bangladesh. After that I have worked in a pharmaceutical industry as an "Executive-Research and Development" for three years.
From my childhood I had enthusiasm for science of medicine which triggered my interest to start my undergraduate study in pharmacy. My educational background in pharmaceutical science and professional experience in pharmaceutical industry gave me basic knowledge in this field but my passion to learn more about pharmaceutical dosage form design, devlopment and how these works inside the body, motivated me to start my PhD study in "Pharmaceutics". My research area is now engineering of microparticles, intranasal drug delivery, spray drying, amorphous solid dispersion preparation. I believe after completing my PhD study I will gain comprehensive knowledge and experience in this field along with leadership skills to successfully continue my research career in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
