Sadegh Poozesh is a versatile professional with over 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical innovation. He has a background in both industry and academia, holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
Currently a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, Sadegh has led teams through significant projects involving monoclonal antibodies (mAb), antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), Fab fragments, and innovative TCEs and VLPs. His skill set includes process development, root-cause analysis, control strategy, tech transfer, and regulatory document writing. He’s also an expert in computational solid dosage, alternative drying technologies, data management, and physical automation. Sadegh excels in creating digital twins for various unit operations.
Before AstraZeneca, Sadegh spent time in academia. He was an Assistant Professor at Tuskegee University and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University. His research efforts were recognized with grants totaling $0.5M from organizations like NIH, NSF, and DoD.
Aside from his job, Sadegh is active in the professional community. He’s been an invited speaker at the International Forum Process Analytical Technology (IFPAC®) and has served as a guest editor for several journals. He’s also an editorial board member for the Journal of Pharmaceutical and BioTech Industry.
