Professor Andrews is Chair of Pharmaceutical Engineering, Deputy Head of School of Pharmacy at Queen's University Belfast and Vice Dean of China Medical University-Queen's UniVersity of Belfast Joint College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is also an Executive MBA candidate at Warwick Business School. Professor Andrews has an international reputation and demonstrable evidence of high-quality publications (125 Publications) in top quartile journals, with 60% of his total outputs in top 10% journals worldwide and more than 30% of my research outputs are co-authored by international researchers.
Professor Andrews is an Eminent Fellowship of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the highest award of the body, that recognises science and expertise on an international stage, with a strong emphasis on advocacy and leadership. He also holds Fellowships of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Irish Academy of Engineering, and has held various positions across a wide range of professional bodies (President of United Kingdom and Ireland Controlled Release Society) and has led successful workshops in the US/Europe. His reserach interests are focused on the development of novel orally administered solid dosage forms ausing engineering techniques for controlled/targeted delivery within the gastrointestinal tract and solubility enhancement of poorly soluble therapeutics.
