Dr. Zhandong Don Zhong is the Head of Bioanalytical Sciences at Denali Therapeutics, overseeing strategic development and implementation of bioanalytical methods for PK measurement, biomarker analysis, and immunogenicity assessment to accelerate the quest to defeat neurodegeneration. During his over 29 years of work in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, Don has contributed to every stage of drug development, from discovery research through Phase III clinical trials, regulatory submission, and post-market surveillance. He has engaged in developing a broad range of therapeutic modalities, including fusion proteins, bispecific monoclonal antibodies, oligonucleotide conjugates, small molecules including peptides, and cell and gene therapy. Don contributed as a co-author or a reviewer to dozens of global regulatory submissions for IND/CTA and BLA/MAA. Prior to his 18 years in drug development, Don spent 11 years managing development, validation, and regulatory submission of IVD assays for clinical diagnostic applications. Don obtained his PhD in Chemistry under the direction of Professor Peter J. Stang at the University of Utah. He completed his postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health.
