Sivasankar Baalasubramanian is a scientist turned entrepreneur with over 25 years of global experience in immunology research, complemented by significant business and leadership achievements. He is the CEO of ImmunitasBio Private Limited, an immunodiagnostics startup in Bangalore, India. At ImmunitasBio, he has pioneered platforms for understanding and measuring vaccine efficacy, particularly for COVID-19. The company developed a rapid, blood-based test for T cell immunity, streamlining the inclusion of subjects in vaccine trials.

Previously, Sivasankar founded a high-end products and services entity for Indoor Biotechnologies, targeting the Asia Pacific market for immunology and allergy solutions. His academic tenure includes serving as Principal Investigator at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, where he researched viral disease immunobiology, highlighting the complement system's role in influenza survival.

Sivasankar’s research journey includes a Wellcome Trust fellowship at Cardiff University, where he discovered a novel role for CD59 in enhancing T cell immunity in infection and cancer. He holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and is recognized for his innovative contributions to immunology and entrepreneurial endeavors.
