Donna joined AstraZeneca / MedImmune in June of 2017 as Vice President of the Dosage Form Design and Development organization. She is responsible for concept-to-product development of drug products and devices for biologics, including formulation sciences, process engineering, novel drug delivery systems, packaging and device development areas that span over three sites in the US and UK.
Prior to AstraZeneca, Donna was Senior Director of Device Development at Genentech and Executive Director of Drug Delivery Engineering at Amgen Inc. For over 20 years, Donna has been developing and commercializing drug products, drug delivery systems and devices. She has led the technical development and/or commercialization of numerous biopharmaceuticals with delivery devices worldwidePrior to her responsibilities in drug/device combination products, she was a scientist researching novel formulations and formulation-based drug delivery systems for biologics.
Donna received her B.S. in Pharmacy from the Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, NY in 1988 and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nebraska in 1994. She is an elected member of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
