Lucy Nandy is an ORISE fellow at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Prior to her current role, she has been a postdoctoral scholar at the Pennsylvania State University and a visiting postdoctoral scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a PhD from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her research interests are characterizing aerosol particles from spray drug products, thermodynamic modeling of complex nanodroplets, multiphase droplet microfluidics, ice nucleation in synthesized nanoparticles and airborne transmission of nanodroplets having various applications in aerosol science and engineering. Prior to her doctoral studies, Lucy was a Technologist/Senior Manager in Tata Steel India, where she worked on macroscale heat transfer and mixing models implemented to minimize defects in steel slabs. In addition, she has worked as a research scholar in Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany to numerically study evaporative processes on a microscale. Lucy received her bachelors from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, India, and her masters from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India.
