Graduate Research Assistant
University of Utah, College of Pharmacy
Salt Lake City, Utah
After completing my B.A. in chemistry from Lake Forest College, I worked as a laboratory analyst at AbbVie, Inc. for a few years. Eventually I pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Utah in the Shawn Owen Lab in the department of Molecular Pharmaceutics. Since joining Shawn’s lab officially in May of 2022, I have written a manuscript over the correlation between HER2 levels on cancer cell surfaces and effectiveness of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) which has been submitted to MDPI Pharmaceutics. Additionally, I have assisted other labs from the University of Utah through synthesizing ADCs, producing and purifying proteins, and labeling proteins with fluorophores. Additionally, I have worked closely with a few industry collaborators studying noncanonical amino acid incorporation into ADCs and studying the effect buffers have on the stability of clinically relevant ADCs on newly developed instruments. I have presented my research at the Controlled Release Society Annual Meeting, the Utah Biomedical Engineering Conference, and to my department as the selected weekly seminar.
