David Powers, PhD, is an Senior Research Scientist with expertise in mass spectrometry, molecular biology, proteomics, and bioprocessing for drug products, including eight years of experience at FDA in biochemical analysis for the bioprocessing lab in the Office of Pharmaceutical Quality Research, CDER, U.S. FDA. At the FDA we study bioreactor nutrient consumption effects on Critical Quality Attributes (CQA) (such as glycosylation) and develop Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tools to augment continuous manufacturing efforts. We are also interested in utilizing metabolic flux analysis to better understand how bioreactor cells respond to environmental stresses and how this impacts product quality.
